Agenda
Save the Date: Blogworkshop – Tuesday June 27th
Are you looking for a way to expand your network and make your science more accessible for a bigger audience? But you don’t know where to start?
The Early Childhood community is organizing a blog workshops for all researchers studying early child development from conception to 6 years. During the workshop experienced bloggers will teach you to translate your abstract into a blog that fits on a broad range of platforms – e.g. the Early Days Blog, Vakblad Vroeg and the DoY community platform.
After participation you’ll have a blog that is ready to be published with one of our partners and you’ll have all the skills necessary to write your next blog.
The blog workshop is intended for all researchers studying early child development from conception to 6 years who want to get started with outreach. So, no experience in blog-writing (or any writing outside the academic field) is necessary! Currently we mainly focus on writing Dutch blogs. However, we will be organizing an English workshop if the demand is high enough.
The workshop will be held on Tuesday June 27th 2023 from 09:00 until 12:00 in the Belle van Zuylenzaal in the University Hall (Domplein 29, Utrecht). Followed by a lunch until 13:00 in the Cohenzaal (Trans 10).
Program
- Interactive lecture about public engagement by science communication expert Frans van Dam.
- Transform your own abstract into a publishable blog; hands on explanation about blog writing by experienced bloggers Mehrnaz Tajik and Ruth Heuvelman and communications adviser Renée Tuijnman.
- Network lunch with participants and communication professionals.
