Youth Education & Life Skills
Utrecht x ALiVE collaboration workshop – 28-30 May
Many African countries are moving to a Competency-based Curriculum (CBC) that focuses on life skills as core competencies. However, the actual implementation and integration of teaching and learning practices that foster life skills competencies in the classroom context are still unclear, and the assessment of these competencies is, in many ways, still in its infancy. A group of over 50 like-minded organizations and individuals in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania recently established a research, peer learning, and policy-influencing network called the Regional Education Learning Initiative (RELI Africa). One of the initiatives within RELI is the Assessment of Life Skills and Values in East Africa (ALiVE) initiative. On May 28-30, 2024, several members of the ALiVE team will come together in Utrecht to explore collaboration. Additionally, there will be a dissemination event on Thursday, May 30th, providing an opportunity for further engagement and knowledge sharing.
