DoY Meet-Up – 7 May, Theaterhuis de Berenkuil

In this DoY Meet-up, we explore the interaction between education, arts and science. There are many ways in which art collides with education and science in current work taking place at the University of Utrecht and beyond. We are eager to learn about what researchers are doing in their different areas of work and to what purpose.  Our goal is to explore the interaction between education, art and science and better understand how these can work together in achieving transformation. Especially in the lives of youth – and thus, this DoY Meet-Up initiative!

Round table on the interaction between education, arts and science

We start this meet-up at 15:30 with a round table where various Utrecht researchers who have managed to connect art to their research will take a seat. Jaqui Goldin will kick-start the round table by presenting their YELS funded project ‘Diamonds on the soles of our feet’ (with Janwillem Liebrand) as an example. Thereafter, the table is open for exploring each other’s projects and purpose. We wrap up by exploring the needs and wishes to continue the conversation. All researchers and professionals with an interest in the connection between education, art and science are welcome to join the round table.

DoY Network drinks

From 16:30, we will continue the meet-up with an informal networking drink for all Dynamics of Youth community (to be) members. So, even if you are not interested in the art/science connection, but just want to catch up with other passionate colleagues or learn from them, you are very welcome to join from this moment onwards. We start the drinks with an easy-going icebreaker to facilitate new connections. Feel free to join the drinks afterwards if you are only able to arrive a bit later.

This DoY meet-up is organized by the Youth Education & Life Skills community.

The DoY meet-up takes place every first Tuesday of the month from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. These meetings offer researchers the opportunity to share perspectives from different disciplines and strengthen their networks. The meetings start with a substantive part in which current research is discussed and/or new ideas can be explored, followed by an informal networking drink.
